For how long do you think you have LUG/PT22 tubes to $1060?

What are the difference between LUG and PT22 tubes? What tubes will you recomend for a Barco 909 and Marquee 9500ultra?

This year, Not sure what next years prices are goign to be for we are good this year and large orders we can come down a little in price..

P19lug has an extra gird. You need to tie this to the current grid or use a 1 Meg ohm resistor to GND.

IF you do not do this you will get a week focus.

Is there any benefit to using a P19LUG over a PT-22 in system not originally designed to take advantage of the extra grid, even after the socket is modded to wire the extra grid to ground? And are you offering LC mounts with the CRT's ?

Thanx
Justin

No both work fine and both have same apeture gun . The PT-22 is very hard to get so P19lug is easier to get ahold of but more work as you have to MOD the neck card.

As for PT-22( White White) they have the same aperture as P19lug( Red White) both are the same resolution and both are used in the 909 and Cine 9 units at the same time even!. Typically for soft edge the REG and BLUE are P19lug and Green is PT-22. However the 909 neck card is set up to take both tubes and I have seen a few 909 units that mix and match what ever was avail.

I am not sure if all 1209s units could take both tubes but the 1209 could not. You can make a 1209 have higher rez by putting in new P19lug and modifying the neck cards and I also mod the back end signal path, the P19lug as you know will need the KG grids tied to G1 ( I think have to pull my schematics) tougher to achieve the high rez or the focus will Bloom. I can send a schematic of what I do if you need it. Some people also use a 1 MEG resistor on KG the LUG to get the correct focus. I have not tested what procedure is the best for quality of picture. I know both work well.

The P19lug will look bad if you do not do this or will look like a lower res 1209 (Yellow White) gun.

I hope that helps.....

We have completed our testing. We found the 1 MEG resistor to be a very poor solution.

We allways have tied KG to Grid and we found to get a superior focus and stability.

When we used the 1 MEG resistor it added noise and picture issues. Also the focus was not as stable.

Do not use the 1 MEG to GND it is not recommended with the P19lug.

Greg
